More complicated, but provides a wider range, greater precision, and measures FC/CC separately. Rinse the sample tube and fill it to the 10ml mark. Scoop one heaping scoop R-0870 powder into sample with teeny blue scooper (flat end held) and swirl to mix. (It's fine if not everything dissolves.) The sample should become pink. If the pink "flashes" and then disappears, add more R-0870. Step 3 can be skipped if there is no pink at all; FC=0. R-0871 should be added one drop at a time, swirling the sample continuously for 1-2 seconds between drops. Stop when the sample becomes colorless. To get FC, multiply #drops by 0.5. (Don't worry if it turns pink again after a few seconds.) 5 drops R-0003, swirl to combine CC=0 if it remains colorless. If it becomes pink, add more drops of R-0871 (whisking continuously) until it becomes colorless. To get CC, multiply drops by 0.5. A CC greater than 0.5 indicates that the SLAM Process must be followed.
