The IRS intends to issue and mail around 5 million checks every week, depending on the taxpayers' incomes.
"We are doing all we can to expedite and not delay the payments, which is why the President's name will not appear on the memo line of this batch of stimulus checks," White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said last week during a briefing.
The checks will instead be signed by a career officer from the Bureau of Fiscal Service, which is collaborating with the IRS to disburse the funds.
