Girls Who Are Mean This list would be incomplete without mentioning a classic. With its star-studded cast and riotous comedy, Mean Girls is unquestionably the best of the bunch. The film is, in fact, the definition of a cult classic. The film, directed by Mark Waters and written by Fey, stars Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Lacey Chabert, Amanda Seyfried, Tim Meadows, Ana Gasteyer, Amy Poehler, and Tina Fey. Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan) was educated in Africa as a teenager by her researcher parents. Cady finally attends public school after her family relocates to the Illinois suburbs, where she learns about the brutal, unspoken popularity norms that divide her classmates into tight-knit cliques. Cady finds herself in the good graces of an elite squad of cool teenagers known as "the Plastics," but she quickly realizes how her superficial group of new friends earned this moniker. Watch the film to see how attractive this group of adolescent ladies truly is.

Maybe I'm getting older and more jaded, or maybe I don't watch as many "good" comedies anymore, but it seems like everything I watch tries to be smart, edgy, or subtle with the humor... I miss Billy Madison, Ace Ventura, and the Bio Dome... Simply unapologetic stupidity. With covid, politics, and general divisiveness so prevalent in the world right now, I realized I'd been missing out on a good solid belly laugh. Life in general is depressing. I watched The Wrong Missy (Netflix) the other day and laughed harder than I had in a long time, realizing that I had been missing some stupid comedy in my life.
You can't go wrong with Issa Rae or Kumail Nanjiani in a comedy. Even before they were given a wonderfully ridiculous story, casting them as a couple was a winning strategy. The two witnessed a murder, which compelled them to embark on a perilous, intense, and completely hysterical escape to save themselves. The Lovebirds demonstrated why Rae and Nanjiani are two of today's best comedic performers. A Pickle from America
Consider it a wholesome version of Groundhog Day. Sarah (Milioti) and Nyles (Samberg) meet at a wedding, but she becomes entrapped in an infinite time loop, doomed to relive the same day over and over. Nyles, who has been stuck for a while, appears content to let his days pass in endless repetition, but Sarah is determined to get out. It's Milioti's film, and she's not afraid to immerse herself in it (sometimes literally). I've admired her since How I Met Your Mother and 30 Rock, and she's been criminally underappreciated as a comedian until now. Furthermore, an infinite time loop is a near-perfect analogy for quarantine. Afterlife of the Ghostbusters
Bill and Ted returned nearly three decades after being tasked with saving the entire universe to fulfill their destiny by saving time and reality as we know it. They were able to accomplish the seemingly impossible thanks to some outstanding assistance. In the process, they created one of the year's best, funniest, and most endearing films. Face the Music was heartfelt and earnest, with some of 2020's funniest scenes. The Story Of Fire Saga Eurovision Song Contest

3. Pizza with Licorice Paul Thomas Anderson has created some extremely grim and dark dramas (for example, There Will Be Blood, The Master, and Magnolia), but some of his best works have been his lighter films (for example, Punch Drunk Love, Inherent Vice), and Licorice Pizza is a fantastic addition to the latter canon. It's the filmmakers' first attempt at making a coming-of-age story, and its youthful energy is wild, endearing, and joyful.
9 Plan B (3.57)
The teen comedy subgenre isn't known for producing sophisticated comedies, but Plan B provided a clever and poignant take on the typically adolescent story. The plot revolves around two teenage girls who embark on an odd and hilarious quest to find a Plan B pill after one of them has sex for the first time.
The eponymous Paper Tigers are Alain Uy, Ron Yuan (Mulan), and Mykel Shannon Jenkins, three former martial arts prodigies who have grown into beleaguered middle-aged nobodies after a lifetime of strenuous training and hard fighting. When their master is assassinated, the three swear an oath to avenge his memory and bring his murderer to justice. If that sounds serious, please keep in mind that this belongs to the Apatowian camp of Dumb Man comedy. TE The Paper Tigers is now available on Netflix.
When aliens arrive on Earth, they are either friendly or hostile, with little in between. This rule does not apply to Harry. He took on the identity of a local doctor in a small village in Colorado after crashing on Earth, and as he gets to know humans better, he begins to have doubts about his mission. Alan Tudyk is excellent in the lead role, and some of the funniest moments occur when his "Harry" has difficulty understanding what people are doing or when he tries and fails to act like them.

After films such as Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and The Last Boy Scout, writer-director Shane Black established a reputation for unrivaled buddy cop mystery comedies, and The Nice Guys is no exception. The Nice Guys wasn't a box office success, but it's easily Black's best film, and Horkus1 thinks it's one of the most rewatchable films ever. The Redditor is "still amazed at the comedic timing of Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe. I didnt really expect that from either of them." While Gosling is known for his more stoic roles, Crowe's hilarious performance in the 2016 film was equally surprising and welcoming.
There are some mixed feelings about Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Some people despise it, while others see it as a fitting sequel to one of the MCU's best films. However, some of the humor in the film is undeniably funny. The issue that many people, including those who like the film, have with it is how thick and fast the jokes come in; it is relentless at times. It is almost non-stop from the start, only stopping for the most emotional scenes. Nonetheless, much of the humor in the film is excellent, hitting home far more effectively than in previous MCU films, thanks in large part to its superb cast, who have great chemistry with one another. The dynamic between Drax and Mantis, Rocket and Baby Groot, and Star-love Lord's for Gamora all contribute to some hilarious moments and some of the MCU's funniest quotes.
So, with the decade coming to an end and me feeling a little down today, I wanted to recommend a comedy film from this era. I feel like I've seen all of the good comedies and can't find anything funny to watch. I recently witnessed a horrible scene between two ferns. I'm hoping to laugh out loud. So go ahead and recommend your favorites to me.
