White River Knife & Tool of Coopersville, Michigan, has introduced the Camp Clever, a new all-purpose fixed blade camp knife. The Camp Cleaver is inspired by knives found in the hands and kit sets of chefs, scouts, and hunters in the 1800s and early 1900s, when a knife was a vital tool. It may be used for camp chores, cooking, and skinning. It has a 5.5" long blade that is 0.156" thick and has an overall length of 10.25" ".. The blade's curvature is ideal for effective cutting, chopping, and slicing with little motion. The stone washed full-tang blade is made of CPM S35VN steel that has been honed and manually leather stropped razor sharp. The ergonomically designed handle is made of long-lasting linen-based Micarta. Because of the handcrafted sheath on this knife, it will be manufactured in less quantities than other White River knives. The components and materials, including the sheath and steel, are created in the United States, as are all of this company's goods. $230 (MSRP)

White River has taken the Camp Cleaver knife genre and created a knife that is genuinely functional. Many camp cleavers are cumbersome, uncomfortable, and difficult to transport. None of those items apply to the White River Camp Cleaver. It is made of superior steel, has excellent ergonomics, and is the ideal design for anything from bushcraft to food preparation. It is large enough for practically any work while yet fitting on the belt. The Camp Cleaver is available in a range of micarta handle colors and comes with a fine leather sheath that matches the knife.

White River Camp Cleaver Review

The White River Knife & Tool Camp Cleaver looks like a shortened Malaysian parang and is great for cutting. This is the test group's monster. The stonewashed blade has a long-lasting flat grind. A hole in the blade provides for easy access when lingering around the campfire. The handle is well crafted, with a generous palm swell and a lanyard hole at the base. White River offers a high-quality square-based belt sheath. The full-size Camp Cleavers blade design stood out to me as handy for both chopping and slicing, so I tried it both ways. I put the blade through its paces on a pair of 2-inch-thick beef tenderloins for a stew. I know it's costly, but I like a nice stew. The Camp Cleaver's weight and sharp edge easily cut slices of tenderloin and cubed the meat into squared bits. Potatoes fared similarly. If you don't mind bringing a full-size cleaver, the White River offering will repay you by preparing meals for a swarm of campers.

The White River Camp Cleaver is a multi-purpose camping and hunting tool that may be used for cutting, chopping, and skinning. This model has stonewashed S35VN steel cleaver blades and black burlap micarta scales. The ergonomic handle design is both pleasant and simple to use. The item comes with a unique leather sheath. CPM-S35VN steel produces a tough blade with good edge holding and corrosion resistance.

The 5.5 S35VN cleaver blade is larger than most current folder handles. Get this if you're not acquainted with the performance of S35VN. When you get it sharp, it remains sharp for a long time. That means that given its weight, this cleaver can cut through just about anything. Oh, and the stonewash finish looks fantastic. The curved back cloth Micarta handles are not only comfortable in the hand, but they also look the part of a camp cleaver. In fact, the more you use this knife, the more rough it will seem. But don't worry. They're held together with three screws and may be removed for a thorough cleaning after you've crushed everything at camp.

Mount Rainier was ascended by John Muir in 1888, and although he admired the vista, he admitted that it was better appreciated from below. Muir was one of several who pushed for the mountain's preservation. The region was designated as a Pacific Forest Reserve in 1893 to safeguard its physical and economic resources, especially wood and watersheds. [78] Railroads and local companies pushed the construction of a national park in the aim of increasing tourism, citing the necessity to maintain landscape as well as offer for public pleasure. Mount Rainier National Park was designated as America's sixth national park on March 2, 1899, by President William McKinley. The new park was established "for the profit and pleasure of the people"[79], as well as "... for the protection from harm or spoliation of any wood, mineral deposits, natural oddities, or marvels within said park, and their retention in their natural state." Because there are no engines on the lake, canoeing and kayaking are calm. The sites are bigger than most and provide plenty of seclusion. And they've done a good job of separating them so they're not stacked on top of one other. Overall, this park is popular with children since the beach is pleasant and sandy, and there is still a floating pier where they may swim. Tweedie, Krista

Crucible Steel released the CPM-S35VN in 2009 as an improvement to the CPM-S30V to fulfill the demands of famous knife manufacturer Chris Reeve. The inclusion of 0.5 percent Niobium, as well as decreases in both carbon (1.45 percent to 1.40 percent) and vanadium (from 4 percent to 3 percent), resulted in an alloy with a 25% increase in measured Charpy V-notch toughness over S30V. (Crucible claims 15-20 percent improvement). Working cooks and outdoor survivalists praise S35VN's enhanced durability, which significantly minimizes the micro-bevel chipping that plagues S30V in harsh usage. In these situations, the apparent advantage of quickly honing an S35VN blade with a strop or steel stick rather than removing metal and reforming the edge gives S35VN an advantage over S30V. Edge-holding and stainless qualities are regarded to be essentially the same in mild usage between S35VN and S30V, and performance is typically determined almost as much by the applied heat treatment, blade design, and edge geometry as the changes in metal chemistry. The Camp Clever's bushcrafting leaning makes it stand out in the expanding cleaver-style knife category. The cleaver format gained off last year after several large companies created the segment. ESEE CL1 and TOPS El Chete blades, for example, may have prepared the way. However, White Rivers Jim Shults believes that the Clever's smaller size and quality features set it apart from predecessors. He notes that a sheath knife like this is uncommon. The blade design and sweep angle, as well as the steel and handle form, are all recent. White River experimented with blade form but chose a basic and ergonomic grip. A curving spine and contoured linen Micarta scales fill the hand and keep the Camp Clever in place when chopping. According to John Cammenga, President of White River, the combination of blade curve, thickness, and bevel form, as well as the ergonomically constructed grip, make this a very adaptable and efficient knife.
