Tinker was brainstorming ideas for the shoe's design (like he often does). When you're an artist, anything may inspire you, so when Tinker spotted a yellow lawn mower, you had to wonder how he incorporated it into the Jordan 11. According to Tinker, there are designers out there who are creating lawn mowers that resemble sports cars. Michael suffered a nasty tumble in the 1995-96 playoffs while wearing the AJ XI, and the cause was inadequate traction. In addition, the midsole would quickly develop wrinkles. When the Air Jordan 11 was released in 1995, it cost $124.99. Three mids and two I.E. lows (which sold for $115.00) were released. There were only five pairs of Air Jordan XI Space Jams produced for Michael for the film Space Jam. In 2001-2002, five colors were re-released for $125.00 each. Eight Air Jordan XI lows were sold for $120.00 in 2001, while two I.E. lows were sold for $119.00 in 2003. The Air Jordan XI and Air Jordan VI were included in a Defining Moments Package launched in 2006.

The Air Jordan 11 is widely considered to be the most popular signature model of all time. The AJ11 is the epitome of a classic silhouette, designed by Tinker Hatfield and worn by Michael Jordan at critical occasions both on and off the court. A patent leather mudguard surrounds the sneaker, which is surrounded by luxury uppers and a transparent outsole. Drake's customized Air Jordan 11 serpentine has the original high-top sneaker. The Air Jordan XI were distinguished not only by their patent leather, but also by the incorporation of a lightweight Phylon midsole with a full-length Air-Sole unit and a full-length carbon fiber plate.
